With webcams built into laptops these days there is a very real risk of hackers spying on people through a webcam. This tool helps to weed out what applications are using a webcam, and can show you what webcams are active. Additionally it allows you to change some settings to restrict webcam usage.

For example you can set it to automatically kill a process that attempts to use the webcam, or shut the webcam off. It can be set to only do this if the process is a background hidden process, or it can automatically disable a webcam after a period of inactivity.

Additionally, you can set a whitelist of applications allowed to use the webcam, and any other application attempting to use the cam will be blocked.
